February 18, 2012

U Va’s Nano and Emerging Technologies (NExT) Club teamed up with the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI) to present nanotechnology demonstrations during the Discover Engineering Family Day at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC. The NNI booth was one of 30 exhibits exploring all aspects of engineering as part of Engineers Week. The event was sponsored by National Engineers Week Foundation, IEEE-USA, Northrop Grumman Foundation and ASME. NextTech Junior Chapter Member and nanoSTAR Student Programs Coordinator also lent a hand to explain nanotechnology to the event’s estimated 10,000+ attendees.
